The restaurant itself looks like it's falling apart and is in desperate need of a good cleaning.
We were desperately hoping to find just mediocre decent food in Midland.....
Had the vegetable soup, was good fresh and HOT. Had a eel roll, don't remember the name. Was good, clean, and fresh. Good staff, Friendly, and talkative. All this positive, within the last hour of operation. Worth the time to stop in for a feast
The fried rice that we received was decent at best. While nothing else was salted, the fried rice was over salted and burnt. I've had worse, but it was definitely not good.
There was raw fish in the window at the bar that had started to discolor. We ordered everything COOKED after seeing that because we were worried about food poisoning. I honestly don't know why we didn't just leave ha.
The bartender used the same dirty rag to wipe the cutting board he was making sushi on as he used to wipe the shelves below the bar.
Is 0 stars an option? The rice was soo hard and not fully cooked. (literally thought I cracked a tooth). The vegetables were soggy. The guy making our sushi was touching a metal tin container with the SAME HAND HE HAD A BALL OF RICE IN WHILE MAKING SUSHI. it was so dirty and disgusting!!!!!!!! There was a tips jar maybe 4-6 inches from my plate on the bar that had sauce and food stuck to it and running down the side of the tips jar.
Their waitress doesn't even speak English! So when we placed our order, we had to repeat it several times cause she didn't understand. And then she literally stood right beside my boyfriend while he was paying the check and she pointed to the tip line and asked him where her tip was.. like that is not right, you work for your tips, you can't just bully people into tipping you. We asked our chef for most of the stuff we needed anyways because she was too difficult to deal with, so we tipped our chef. I would enjoy my time here with a better wait staff..
The tempura combo platter that we ordered had zero seasoning. I never salt my food at a restaurant, and I had no choice but to add salt to give it some sort of flavor.
Worst experience ever. This was my first time ever going to a hibachi grill. My husband and I went for our anniversary and we will never go back. Our waitress was deaf apparently and very rude!! It took her 30 mins to bring us back our drinks. AND forgot our daughters plate. The chief put on a good show that was the only good thing aside from the fortune cookies.
If you are like my husband and I, and you are desperately trying to find somewhere decent to eat in Midland, do not come here.
The only good part of our meal was the generic fortune cookie at the end.
The sushi that we ordered was above and beyond the worst sushi I have ever eaten. There was so much rice that you couldn't even taste the other ingredients and the rice was very poorly cooked. Doesn't help that they had what looked to be a 14 year old boy making it and it was, clearly, his first time doing so. The manager tried to use that as an excuse, but as we were leaving, we saw sushi being served that was made by the young lady "training" the boy, and the ratio of rice to fish was just as outrageous.
