My family and I met halfway in Midland for a mini vacation for my nephews first birthday. The customer service desk is a bit slow moving, BUT they didn't charge me extra to check in at Noon instead of 3pm, they didn't charge me extra when trying to juggle three kids out of the hotel went a little past check-out time. To me those were the important things. The poor maid couldn't get towels for the pool out fast enough, instead she walked by with her cart in a rush and said, "sweetie, just swipe that card into the gym and snatch those towels." Big deal. I had to go get my own towel.
I stay in my my fare share of hotels and I must say I'm over impressed. Housekeeping works late I the afternoon to maintain upkeep of rooms, front staff is super friendly and efficient, restaurant staff are all super friendly and food is great. Kudo to the cook and waitress. Hotel is nice and cozy, ice machine works great. Fridge is nice and cold. . There is a bar on second floor and nice pool and outdoor sitting area. I have been here 1 whole week with zero complaints and unbelievably quiet day and night. Highly recommended. God bless Texas!!!
If you're expecting Hilton luxury. Don't. But for a small town, this place was amazing and I'm grateful. The employees were also extremely friendly.
When I checked in I asked for adjoining rooms if possible, and without compliant, they traded out the cards and gave me adjoining rooms.
Midland is a small town. It's not a fancy big city and therefore you shouldn't expect caviar waiting for you.
Their rooms were very unsanitary!! There was makeup on at least two of our pillowcases. The sheets had spots and stains on them. They moved us to another room and it was not any better. Again the sheet on my bed had some kind of stain right in the middle of it. The other bed smelt of urine. I laid on top of my covers wrapped up in my own blanket!! My sister slept sideways acrossed the foot of the other bed to avoid the urine smell. Again wrapped up in her own blanket. Needless to say our stay was horrible!! The managers solution was to refund me back a whole whopping $25.
Industrial part of town. Front desk agents didn't acknowledge me until about 5 minutes after arrival. 1 was on the phone. Ended 1 call then placed one on hold then picked it up. Other agent came up, got on computer but never said anything until she looked up and said checking in. Simply a transaction for her. Room is ok, a bit dirty and dinghy. Very bad lighting- no lamps just 3 down lights along one wall. Beds are nice but carpet and tile are worn and appear dirty.
Nice hotel. Bed was comfortable and the room was cozy. The gym could use some improvements but the indoor pool was nice.
As far as I'm concerned I loved the place. The children enjoyed their pool and the beds were so amazingly soft. I swear I took multiple showers, oh and ask how to get the shower on... that was the only thing I couldn't figure out.
