This is the worst airport I have ever traveled in. The airport has no AC. The woman at the PAX bar and eatery restaurant in the airport ignored me when I stood right in front of her for breakfast then when asked if still serving breakfast I got a attitude like I was bothering her. This experience here has been horrible from start to finish.
Midland used to have a TSA Precheck security line. They got rid of it so if you’re precheck expect a security wait. Mine today (mid-day on a Thursday) was 30 minutes.
My lovely lady was privately screened by airport security for having a bow on her dress,that was the reason they gave us and she may be carrying explosives.Two female airport securityguards walked her into a room and made her strip,was frisked by both security guards one of whom had a large tattoo on her forearm, and my lovely lady was subjected to a body cavity examination gloves and all even tho they found no wiring or explosive charges in the dress or her undergarments and after she was deemed by security not to be a terrorist she released.We flew to Odessa Tx.for a wedding,after the wedding we returned to the airport to go home and was subjected to a jailhouse welcome but now we have returned home safely but it's going to be a rough day. Beautiful facility but the absolute slowest bag delivery I've ever experienced ... and I've had this experience here twice. I don't usually check a bag when flying here, and will try to avoid it in the future. It took almost one hour to deliver the checked bags of our ~80 passenger plane. Pathetic.
This airport has the worst signage of any airport I’ve been in. Baggage claim takes way too long. 50% of the time there are no rental cars. Desperate Uber drivers clogging up the pick up area with all their vehicles. Where are the taxis? No signs telling you where taxis or shuttle buses are. None of the airport employees know anything and are not helpful at all. After seeing the Midland City Council members photos near the bathrooms I realized who is to blame for the ass backwards manner in which the airport operates. Considering Councilman Jay Ross Lacy is also on the board of directors for the airport I feel a lot of the fault lies with him.
